We give back to the community in which we work and live both financially and with volunteer services. By providing support to other organizations our chapter has the ability to affect the lives of others in very positive and meaningful ways as well as raising the profile of the payroll professional!
As a member of the Mountain States Payroll Professionals chapter additional opportunities to promote the industry, help provide recognition for the work done by payroll professionals daily, or provide public service, education on employment payroll related issues are bountiful, for instance: Networking Opportunities: Membership in the MSPP chapter and attendance at meetings will provide many opportunities to meet other professionals and exchange ideas on a broad range of issues which may be impacting your organization or job functions. Career Building Opportunities: As you take advantage of the educational opportunities provided and the encouragement of your colleagues, you will not only find yourself growing into your own potential as a payroll professional, you will find your confidence building and your vision enlarging so that the limits of what you can do and what you want to become reach new levels. Chapter committee Involvement: As a member, you can join a chapter committee and become a vital contributor to the chapter’s commitment to the payroll community. Committees such as the … Membership – where you could assist in maintaining the generating various ways to increase membership in the American Payroll Association and the Mountain States Payroll Professionals chapter; Education –instrumental in organizing and facilitating Study Groups, and planning meetings which keep us up to date on payroll education and compliance issues; …and others could always use your time, talent or ideas to help make this chapter what we all want it to become! Board of Directors: As a member of the Board, you could contribute to the success of the chapter by promoting chapter events, activities with local, state and national colleagues. Each board member provides a unique and integral opportunity to demonstrate the ever increasing significance payroll professionals play in the global economy. Community Service Opportunities: Every year the MSPP chapter participates in community service projects to gain exposure for the payroll industry and to give back to our community. Projects may include such activities as food drives for food banks in the area, or donation drives to provide professional apparel for job seeking homeless persons.
